Hello from Lulu Belle!!!

Last Friday, I received my "pink" slip (which wasn't really pink - just plain white). My mom, whom I call Sadie (When I was in highschool - strangers thought she was my sister (she looks very young and swears it's the bacon and vodka) and she would insist I call her by her name so that she could pretend she was 20 years younger.  Sadie Cake (from the SpellBound Cafe series) is my way of paying respect to her (and because she dropped countless hints that she wanted a character created after her)) always tells me to "There is a silver lining in every cloud." It's old, tried and true advice, and I grew up watching her always try to make the best of every crappy situation.

Anyway!  After a long weekend of scouring help wanted ads - someone said, "Why don't you just take some time and write full time, see what happens?"

And I thought that was kinda brilliant.

So here I am. I have six months. I'm cancelling the cable and will stop the weekly (okay, maybe more like almost daily) trips to the bakery. No more shoe shopping. No more buying e- books that cost more than  9.99 (which, I really do NOT understand because it really doesn't cost a thing to publish an ebook).

I'm taking over the duties of the publishing company since I'm the only one who can now work in my pajamas (I bought really cute pastel plaid pj pants from Target - only 9.99 on sale!!).

There will be some changes (mainly this website) - but that will come shortly. I'm going to be switching the books over to the new Barnes and Noble publishing platform in the next week and Diary of Sassy Southern Bride part 3 will be available by (or before) June 1st!!

I hope you'll join me on my new journey! I guess, y'all are my new "boss" - and I look forward to working for you!

Diary Of A Sassy Southern Bride Part 3

Hello Spring!

What I love about Spring is that it gives birth to a flowers and buds on the trees - and in keeping with the ushering in of new life - Barnes and Noble has introduced a new publishing platform.

This was a surprise - publishers and authors had  no idea this was happening until the day Barnes and Noble sent  out an email announcing that PUBIT! (the platform we use to publish our books) was going to be changing to Nook Press.

I don't believe this will have any affect on the reader - but as for publishers and authors; it's a bit of a disruption as there is a new system to learn and the transferring of already published books to a new system (that is still full of quirks) leads to the disappearance of the books for a few days on the BN.COM website.

We've decided to wait to publish Diary part 3 until May - hopefully Nook Press will have ironed out many of the quirks that publishers are reporting.

When we make the transition, we will update and announce it here.

Thank  you so much for your continued patience and your wonderful support.

Happy Reading!!!!

Diary Of A Sassy Southern Bride - PART TWO!

Happy Day! Part Two of Diary Of A Sassy Southern Bride PART TWO! has been published and is ready for reading!

Click here for link to Barnes & Noble.

Dear Readers,
First off, my apologies. After writing several books, I couldn’t wait to tell Rebel Mae Calhoun’s story. I received some wonderful emails from fans of the Spellbound CafĂ© books who said they couldn't wait to read my next book. For a new writer, this is a new actress being nominated for an Oscar! I decided to publish Rebel’s books in installments – that way my readers didn’t have to wait so long and it would be like a party full of appetizers (I am a big fan of appetizers!). A little here, a little more there – story grazing!
But as much as I adore appetizers – when it comes to writing – I find this initial series was not such a wonderful fit for me. It seemed every time I turned my attention to Rebel, Dempsey, and Katie Sue, MY life threw me a curve; there was a point I started to feel as if these Southern girls were a curse and I actually avoided them!
I love Rebel though, and I could NOT stay away – I love her kooky Aunts and her quirky friends – and Rebel’s story is about living life on exclamation – finding the humor in the horrendous, and not crying over spilled mile (spilled vodka, well, that’s a different story!). I’m happy to report that nothing bad has happened since I’ve started devoting my attention full time to the Southern trio (however, the family restaurant down the street is on speed dial and while I miss my time in the kitchen, I don’t miss doing the dishes and they have the best cornbread ever!)
I would like to THANK YOU for being so patient for this second installment. I’m in the process of the third and final installment and have made it a priority!
I’d love to hear from you and how you felt about the experience of a “series” novel; is it frustrating? Would you rather read a little at a time if it means you don’t have to wait so long in between books?
Feel free to email me at HelloBaconMedia@gmail.com – in the subject line write: Lulu Belle.

Diary Of A Southern Sassy Bride

On Sale Now!

Rebel Mae Calhoun writes a weekly dating advice column and is getting married to one of the richest men in Lowcountry; successful prosecutor, Barron Price. It should be a dream come true.
But while most brides focus on nothing but planning their weddings, Rebel is suddenly focused on finding the perfect Southern food. She sneaks away in the middle of the day to find the perfect mac n cheese, the perfect ham biscuits, the perfect slice of coconut cake. She’s become obsessed with food and as her obsession grows, so does her waistline.
Her best friends, Katie Sue and Dempsey, are on a mission to save her from outgrowing her wedding dress and in the process, may or may not have accidentally killed Katie Sue’s husband, a prominent, but drunker than a skunk, district attorney.
As the girls try to elude the police and solve the mystery before landing in jail, they discover that life is a comedy of errors, ghosts are people too, and that when life gets nuts, you turn it into a pecan pie and share it with friends.
Party comedy, part mystery, part ghost story, part romance – you’re sure to fall in love with the southern, sassy Rebel Mae Calhoun and her quirky friends and family.
This is the first of three installments.
The second installment of Diary Of A Sassy Southern Bride (a Southern Pied Serial) will be released in January, 2013.

Devilish FBI agent Luke Foreman is assigned to the case and carries his own secrets. A bumbling detective compromising crime scenes. A hyperactive Chippendale Dancer who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and worries he’s a suspect. And a gun found by Molly in her best friends closet that matches the one used in the crimes. Molly soon finds the boundaries of friendship, romance, and the law tested as justice fades to gray.
